I owned a BMW E12 1980 528i. My car embodied the BMW philosophy of a “Driver’s Car”, with a performance focus. It had dual power mirrors, telescopic wheel and many other luxuries but was never offered with cruise control. It was about driving and being in control.
When BMW brought in their “heated seats at our discretion, if you pay your subscription annually”… they lost every cubic millimetre of their soul.
Also, we could wonder if BMW going with a series-1 and series-2 might for taking a bigger marketshare might also play a role of losing a cubic millimeter of their soul and to some exclusivity?
